nothing fixes itself, but thats when you can separate someone who truly understands their craft from someone who copied what others do without understanding it. lets use a example of taking player A and player B.
Player A is someone who spent a lot of time on their own developing a playstyle through countless failures and used this very unique style to climb to rank X (challenger).
Player B on the other hand spend less time but used player A's strategy to climb to rank X.
both have achieved the same outcome, but one understands now fundamentally what is neccesarry to achieve rank X and knows a formula that can be used to repeat the same succes, where as the other one only learned how to copy a existing succesful formula.
Thats what seperates greatness from copy cats.
Proffesional players back in the days never had this issue, since everyone was forced to be player A, since streaming/guides etc wasn't as well rounded or popular, so these players learned to adapt to new situations and playstyles through their own unique understanding of the game. but as time has went on, you will see a lot more player B's in the ladder. If you were to put player A and B in a team format now and take them from the soloq ladder at the same time, it is obvious which one would do much better than the other at adapting to a team format. So the answer is, it isin't extremly difficult to un-learn, because learning and developing your craft is something you always have to do to stay at the top, but to reach the top you can just copy someone else. Like in any sport or any trait in life, you need to learn through failure and form a way to make things work for you, with your understanding, you won't get far by copying others, because you won't truly understand it. SoloQ is just a place to test who can reach the apex of X rank, this can be done through good mental or skill alone, or other things, but there is something unique that seperates you from the rest of the bunch to be able to hit X. from then on is the true test of charecter, and i think its fine and neccesarry, because in team play its harder to seperate a good n bad player and truly see the diffrence. but when you take soloq players and put them into team play, you will be able to see their true character.
